The Murrieta Public Library announced Melvin Racelis as its new manager. Racelis has more than 14 years of experience working in public libraries.
Most recently, Racelis served as the senior librarian/branch manager for the La Pintoresca branch of the Pasadena Public Library system. He has served in a variety of roles, including Children’s Services.
Racelis holds two master’s degrees, including one in library services from the University of North Texas.
Racelis joins a short list of library managers in the City of Murrieta, including recently retired Elise Malkowski. Agnes Rita has been serving as interim manager since Malkowski’s retirement.
The library reopened its in-person services on January 31. In-person events resume on Monday, February 14. Operating hours are Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 12 to 5 p.m.
