Meet the Pinard family, a family full of passion, love, and adventure. Susan, David, and their three boys, Grant, 21, Adam, 19, and Evan, 16, relocated from Redondo Beach to Canyon Lake in 2001.
Susan and David’s love story began in 1998 at a super bowl party David hosted. They became engaged two months later and were married six months after they met.
The Pinard family started playing pickleball in 2019. In late 2019, Susan and David turned their love of pickleball into a business and opened Pickleball Chalet, a retail pickleball store in Lake Elsinore that also includes a pickleball court. The court allows the Pinards to teach lessons and customers to try out paddles before purchasing.

Evan, the youngest of the three Pinard boys, plays in competitive tournaments throughout the western region. The 16-year-old competes at the 5.0 level in the 19 to 35 age bracket. He recently competed in New York City at the APP US Open. In July, Evan will be competing at the Next Gen tournament in Kansas City, a tournament for the up-and-coming junior pickleball players from across the country. Evan is homeschooled through Cornerstone, which allows him more time to practice pickleball.
Adam, the middle son, is a talented quarterback at Mt. San Jacinto College. where he is studying business. He plans to transfer at the end of the year to get his bachelor’s degree in business with an emphasis on marketing. He works part-time at a restaurant and loves living in Canyon Lake, wakeboarding, and playing pickleball with family and friends.
Grant, the oldest of the three boys, lives in Phoenix, Arizona, and attends Scottsdale Community College. He is studying business. Grant currently works at Costco and recently attended the Southwest Regional Leadership Summit. He will be going through the supervisor training program in the near future. When he’s home visiting his family, Grant enjoys wakeboarding and hydrofoiling.
The Pinards are members of the Canyon Lake Pickleball Club and offer club members a discount on purchases. They give back to the club by donating to the club a percentage of each member’s purchase.
Outside of Canyon Lake, Susan and Evan love being involved with their church, Faith Bible Church. Evan is involved in the high school ministry and Susan serves in the children’s ministry. Susan is looking forward to traveling to Israel next May with a group of 50 people from her church.
