The newly configured golf course lake near hole 13 is being filled with water this week. Landscaping around the new lake will complete the project. According to the POA, the new lake will save the POA more than $80,000 per year on its water bill and pay for itself in about five years.
Last modified in the 80s, the lake had been in need of repairs for many years. Keeping the badly leaking lake filled was costly. Due to its condition, it was bypassed from being an irrigation reservoir in the fall of 2018.
On September 3, 2019, the POA Board of Directors approved funding in the amount of $359,896.51 from the Repair and Replacement Fund for the renovation of the new lake. The scope of work includes replacing the crumbling shoreline with natural sloping sides, adding a new liner, and replacing the bridge with an earthen bridge in a new location.
