New rule identifies member who piggybacks another vehicle is not a gate runner

All member vehicles entering the community are required to wait for the gate arm to lower and reopen before entering. In some instances, a member will not wait for the gate arm to lower and will “piggyback” another vehicle into the community.

At the request of the Appeals Committee, the POA Board of Directors approved a new rule to identify that a member who piggybacks another vehicle is not a “gate runner” as defined under GR.6.9a.

New rule GR.6.9b states that any vehicle registered with the POA that piggybacks another vehicle and enters the community without allowing the gate arm to lower is in violation. This rule becomes void if the vehicle is directed to enter by staff.

To gain compliance, this new rule will impose a written warning instead of a fine for the first violation. A $50 fine will be issued for the second offense and a $100 fine will be issued for the third offense.
