Nine-year-old Canyon Laker and classmates to hold ‘Fill the Stocking’ donation drive for Cops for Kids on Saturday at county club

Nine-year-old Canyon Laker Reece Walsh and several of her classmates from Tuscany Hills Elementary School will be holding a “Fill the Stocking” donation drive on Saturday, November 21, and Saturday, November 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Canyon Lake Country. All proceeds will be donated to Cops for Kids in Lake Elsinore.

Reece’s goal is to raise $5,000 by December 11. Residents can also donate to Reece’s cause by visiting www.copsforkidsinc.org/event/fill-the-stocking.

Cops for Kids was founded in 1995 by two deputies on patrol from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station who saw a need in the community and took up a collection from other deputies at the station.

The deputies started by delivering gifts to underprivileged children while on patrol at Christmas time. Today, Cops for Kids has grown into a 501(c)(3) non-profit serving hundreds of children, seniors, and families each year.
