Temecula deputies screen 675 vehicles during a DUI Checkpoint on Friday, June 12.
Held from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. near Ynez Road and DLR Drive, the checkpoint resulted in 13 citations issued to unlicensed drivers and one vehicle towed. No DUI arrests were made.
While no DUI arrests were made during the checkpoint, officials emphasized that the operation serves as both an enforcement tool and a public awareness effort aimed at preventing impaired driving and reducing traffic-related injuries and fatalities.
Funding for this checkpoint is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
