The election for the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association Board of Directors will move forward this year through acclamation, as only two candidates submitted intent-to-run packets for the two available seats.
Incumbent Bill Vleet and candidate Terry Jarvis are the only members who returned their intent-to-run packets for the 2026–2030 Board of Directors term. Because the number of candidates matches the number of open seats, the election will proceed by acclamation, meaning members will not vote to select board candidates this year.
Under the acclamation process, Vleet and Jarvis are expected to assume the available board positions once the election process is finalized, without a traditional candidate vote. Their four-year terms will begin on May 23.
While there will be no contested race for the board seats, association members will still receive a ballot. The ballot will include other measures that require membership approval, which will still go to a vote as part of the annual election process.
Ballots and election rules will be mailed to members on April 13. The last day recommended to mail in a paper ballot is May 6. The Annual Meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 23, at 9 a.m. at the Canyon Lake Lodge.
The Canyon Lake POA has a five-member board of directors, who are collectively responsible for the management and operation of the POA’s business affairs. The directors are elected at-large for staggered four-year terms. The terms are staggered with three directors in odd years and two directors in even years.
