Nurse suspected of stealing from patient at Temecula Valley Hospital

A registered nurse was arrested in Murrieta on Friday for allegedly stealing from an elderly patient at Temecula Valley Hospital.

On October 29, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Southwest Station served a fraud-related search warrant in the 24000 block of Leafwood Drive in Murrieta and arrested Isabel Valdez, 33, on suspicion of theft by credit card, financial elder abuse, and identity theft.

Valdez was booked into the Cois M. Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta and released the same day. Her court date is set for January 31, 2022, according to jail records.

Further investigation revealed Valdez acted alone and the hospital was unaware of her actions, according to Sergeant Deirdre Vickers,
