Only prime members are allowed to vote in POA election

The Canyon Lake POA five-member board of directors are collectively responsible for the management and operation of the POA’s business affairs. The board directors are elected by at-large for staggered two-year terms. The terms are staggered with three directors in odd years and two directors in even years.

Three of the five board seats are up for election in May when the two-year terms of Chris Poland, Jeanne O’Dell, and Tom Nathan end.

The six members hoping to fill the vacant seats are Brian Bock, Timothy Cook, incumbent Chris Poland, Carl Gardner, Bradley Foland, and Renee Griffiths.

Renters and associates are not permitted to vote in the election. Only prime members are allowed to vote, per Article III of the Bylaws. In households that include a husband and a wife, the prime member is issued in the name of the husband unless otherwise directed. Prime members have one vote per unit/lot/parcel owned.

Ballots will be mailed to members on April 12. The Annual Meeting of the Members and Election of Directors will be held on May 13 at 8 a.m. in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. The meeting will be called to order and polls will close at approximately 9 a.m. If a quorum is not met on May 13, the alternate meeting date will be held on May 16.
