Canyon Lake Mayor Pro Tem Kasey Castillo donated 120 juice boxes to Operation Juice Box, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting a positive relationship between law enforcement officers and the communities they serve. The juice boxes were delivered on Wednesday to Canyon Lake Deputy Tilley, who will distribute them to local children.
Castillo’s random act of kindness inspired other Canyon Lake residents to contribute to the organization. There are now three juice box collection bins in Canyon Lake. Residents who wish to donate are asked to drop off their juice boxes in the bins on the front porch at 29908 Smugglers Pt., 29385 Vacation Dr., or 30938 Long Point Dr. Juice boxes must be in their original packaging.
Residents who wish to make a monetary donation to Operation Juice box can do so by visiting, operationjuicebox.org.
Operation Juice Box is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting a positive relationship between law enforcement officers and the communities they serve.
The organization provides free juice boxes, and other non-perishable goods such as crayons and coloring books, to law enforcement personnel to distribute to children. This simple gift creates a positive interaction and opens a dialogue between law enforcement and the public. The goal is to break down barriers, develop relationships, and instill a positive image of law enforcement in the minds of youth.
The organization was founded by 9-1-1 dispatcher Chelsea Parham. “As a 9-1-1 dispatcher serving a diverse community, I realized more needed to be done than simply sitting around and saying something needed to change, I needed to make a move towards change.”
