Pepe’s Mexican Restaurant & Cantina in the Canyon Lake Towne Center is in escrow, confirmed owner Laura Demoreno. Demoreno said that she and her husband decided to sell the restaurant to devote more time to their five other businesses.

The new owners, a husband and wife who currently own two restaurants in Temecula, are Canyon Lake residents and wish to remain anonymous at this time.

Earlier this year, the establishment was featured on the television show Bar Rescue. During the Bar Rescue makeover, the show’s host, Jon Taffer, changed the bar’s name to Par Bar and remodeled it with a golf theme.

The name change and the golf-themed makeover was not well received by the lake community. After the show aired, the Demorenos remodeled the bar with a lake theme and changed the name to Del Lago (the lake) Bar at Pepe’s.

The new owners said they plan to change the name back to Pepe’s Mexican Restaurant & Cantina and fully remodel the bar.
