The Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce selected Pepe’s Mexican Restaurant and Cantina as the 2024 Business of the Year.
Owned by Erin and Ed Ryder, Pepe’s was selected for its unwavering support of the community and chamber events.
Pepe’s has been a staple in the community for 50 years. The Ryders purchased the restaurant during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. “It was a challenge and a struggle the first year but we had a dream of wanting to serve our community,” Erin said.
Since purchasing the restaurant, the Ryders have played an active role in numerous community and chamber events. Their involvement includes participation in the chamber’s signature events, such as the Battle of the Businesses, where their team’s enthusiasm and sportsmanship stood out, and the Parade of Frights, which they sponsored and actively participated in.
Beyond these events, Pepe’s is known for its generous sponsorships and donations to various community events. Erin is often seen volunteering, further strengthening the restaurant’s connection to the community.
Pepe’s has been a fixture in Canyon Lake for 50 years. Under the Ryders’ leadership, it continues to serve as a community hub. The couple resides in Canyon Lake, deepening their ties to the community they proudly serve.
