A Perris man was arrested on suspicion of murder after a teenager died of fentanyl poisoning. Daniel Ramirez, a 21-year-old resident of Perris, is suspected of selling the fentanyl that killed the teen.
On May 21, at 5:19 p.m., deputies responded to a call of an unresponsive juvenile in the 2500 block of Spectacular Bid Street in the city of Perris, where deputies and paramedics performed lifesaving measures. The teen was transported to a local hospital and the case was assumed by the Riverside Sheriff’s Office Overdose Death Investigations and Narcotics Unit.
The teen was pronounced deceased a few days later. The Sheriff’s Coroner’s Bureau determined the teen died as a result of fentanyl poisoning.
On September 22, charges were filed against Ramirez and a Ramey warrant was issued for murder.
On September 25, personnel from the Gang Impact Team located Ramirez in the City of Moreno Valley, where he was taken into custody without incident.
A search warrant was executed at the 80 block of E. Jarvis Street in the City of Perris, where deputies located narcotics indicative of sales. Ramirez was later booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for the murder of the teenager.
