We all love receiving art from our kids, but what if your dog could create a masterpiece as well? They can and, best of all, there’s no mess.

Here’s my how-to on setting up a fun, safe, and mess-free art project for your pup.

You’ll need the following items:

  • A small (8” x 11”) canvas or paper with a solid backing
  • Several different color tubes of acrylic paint
  • Plastic wrap
  • Tape
  • Peanut butter

Instructions:

First, apply several large dabs of acrylic paint around the middle of the canvas. Use as many colors as you want. Next, cover the canvas with plastic wrap and tape down the sides. Make sure there are no openings for the paint to escape from. Apply a generous amount of peanut butter all over the plastic-wrapped canvas and then hold it in front of your dog (to make sure it’s stable) and let your pup lick away!

As your pup licks, the paint under the plastic wrap will get moved around, creating a one-of-a-kind piece of art. Once they are done licking all of the peanut butter, remove the plastic wrap while it’s still wet and then let it dry. Lastly, brag to your friends about your dog’s newfound talent.
