The Canyon Lake Fire Department has three new pet oxygen recovery masks thanks to the Canyon Lake K9 Club. The masks can provide emergency on-the-spot oxygen treatment for pets that need relief from episodic or acute respiratory distress.
On behalf of the K9 Club, nine-year-old Griffin Castillo personally delivered the pet oxygen masks to the fire department.
“Chief LaTendresse expressed his gratitude for the donation for the Canyon Lake pet population,” Griffin’s mom, Councilwoman Kasey Castillo, said. She added, “He has used these masks before, so he is familiar with this type of equipment.”
To ensure pets of all sizes are protected, three different sizes of masks were donated. They will be stored on the fire truck.
