On January 30, deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station’s Robbery/Burglary Suppression Team conducted a quality-of-life operation in conjunction with loss prevention officers from a business located in the 18200 block of Collier Avenue in the City of Lake Elsinore.
During this operation, three subjects suspected of shoplifting from the business were identified as 46-year-old Nicholas Wilhelm of Lake Elsinore, 30-year-old Thomas Thorsborne of Menifee, and 39-year-old Iran Flores Alvarado of Lake Elsinore.
Alvarado was arrested for shoplifting, while Wilhelm and Thorsborne qualified for Prop 36 charges and were booked for shoplifting and petty theft with priors. With the enactment of Proposition 36, those committing thefts can prosecuted for a felony if they have two prior convictions of similar offenses.
This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Deputies Noel or Castro at the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station at 951-245–3300.
