The Mermaids of Canyon Lake Club embarked on an endeavor to give back to the community and to raise funds for its charitable causes by curating a 2025 calendar showcasing the beauty of Canyon Lake, featuring photos submitted by residents.
To encourage participation, the club organized a photo contest, enticing residents with a chance to win gift cards ranging from $50 to $100.
By securing support from local sponsors, which are featured throughout the calendar and on the back pages, the club was able to raise enough funds to print 2,000 calendars to distribute to community members at no charge.
More than 125 photos were submitted to the contest, according to Nicole Taylor, who led this endeavor for the club. The photos were judged by local professional photographers.
The winners are as follows:
- Cover: Mauricio Tassara, $100
- January: David Netting, $50
- February: Jamie Willis, $50
- March: Kit Courter, $50
- April: Jamie Willis, $50
- May: Jose Valle, $50
- June: Mauricio Tassara, $50
- July: Sandi Geer, $50
- August: Lauren Solomon, $50
- September: Bill Van Vleet, $50
- October: Bertie Murray, $50
