The Riverside Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance in an unsolved homicide case. As another year passes, the murder of Henry Shannon, a 35-year-old resident of Menifee, remains unsolved.

On May 14, 2018, at about 3:30 p.m., deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to a report of a shooting near Railroad Canyon and Grape Street in the City of Lake Elsinore.
According to authorities, Shannon was involved in a single-vehicle traffic accident near the intersection of Railroad Canyon Road and Church Road and had initially driven away from the scene.
Deputies performed life-saving measures until paramedics arrived. Shannon was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
It is believed that Shannon knew and had planned to meet up with the suspects for unknown reasons when the shooting occurred.
During the last six years, several investigative leads were pursued, but the suspects involved in Shannon’s murder have not been identified. On the evening of the shooting, witnesses advised that the suspects fled the area in a dark blue 4-door Buick sedan, model year 1997-2003.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact Central Homicide Unit Investigator Dan Brown at 951-955-2777.
