CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department will be conducting a prescribed burning near Lake Skinner today, June 5 in the proximity to Domenigoni Parkway and Warren Road.
Burning operations typically begin after 11 a.m. and conclude early afternoon that same day. A total of 77 acres will be burned; drift smoke may be visible from nearby communities.
The project is aimed at the removal of noxious weeds and grass, reducing hazardous vegetation, habitat restoration. In addition to the ecological benefits, the program will serve as a fire suppression training for CAL FIRE engine crews, along with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation inmate crews.
