A DUI checkpoint in the City of Lake Elsinore yielded two driving under the influence arrests. The checkpoint was held on January 27 between the hours of 8 p.m. and 3 p.m. at Railroad Canyon Road and Church Street.
Deputies screened 1123 vehicles, resulting in 12 citations for unlicensed drivers, five citations for suspended license, two driving under the influence arrests, and one felony arrest warrant and two misdemeanor arrest warrants served. A total of 29 citations were issued. Ten vehicles were towed.
Checkpoint locations are chosen based on a history of DUI crashes and arrests.
