Cal Fire, Canyon Lake Fire, and Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to the three-vehicle collision on July 7 around 3 p.m. on Greenwald Avenue in the City of Lake Elsinore, just outside Canyon Lake’s north gate.

The accident occurred shortly after the driver of a red Corvette fled from a deputy, who was attempting to stop him near Canyon Lake’s north causeway for reckless driving, according to Captain James Rayls of the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station.

“During the traffic stop, he fled outside the north gate and crashed into two vehicles,” Rayls said.
