A Riverside County correctional deputy was arrested on Saturday on allegations of sexual battery and false imprisonment.
On March 7, the Riverside Sheriff’s Special Investigations Bureau conducted an investigation into allegations of sexual battery and false imprisonment involving an off-duty Riverside County Sheriff’s correctional deputy.
The deputy, identified as 29-year-old Yash Patel, was arrested in Jurupa Valley without incident and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center on one count of sexual battery and one count of false imprisonment.
Patel began his employment with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office in July 2021 and was most recently assigned to the Robert Presley Detention Center. Following his arrest, Patel was placed on paid administrative leave pending an administrative investigation.
