A Riverside County high school coach has been arrested on suspicion of child annoyance, sexual battery, and lewd and lascivious acts with a minor.

In August, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Perris Station responded to a high school in the 100 block of Nuevo Road in the City of Perris to investigate allegations that a coach was having inappropriate contact with students.

The employee was placed on administrative leave while investigators with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit conducted an ongoing investigation into the allegations.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, investigators determined that Jesse Gonsalez Lopez, a 27-year-old resident of Perris, had inappropriate contact with students.

Lopez was arrested on October 10 and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center on suspicion of child annoyance, sexual battery, and lewd and lascivious acts with a minor.

This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact Lead Investigator C. Poznanski at 951-955-1698.
