The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department announced the death of a recruit while attending the sworn academy at the Ben Clark Training Center. The name of the recruit is being withheld at the request of the family.
On August 11, Cal Fire and AMR personnel were dispatched to the Ben Clark Training Center in Riverside regarding a recruit who did not appear to be feeling well. Upon their arrival, the recruit lost consciousness and life-saving measures were performed. AMR transported the recruit to a nearby hospital; however, he did not survive.
