Riverside County Sheriff’s Department mourns loss of deputy

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is mourning the loss of Deputy Timothy Corlew, who was involved in an on-duty traffic collision on Wednesday, January 8. He was assigned to the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Deputy Corlew was killed in a motorcycle crash around 5 a.m. on the westbound 91 Freeway when he collided with a vehicle and was ejected from this motorcycle upon impact. Deputy Corlew was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Deputy Corlew began his service with the department on February 1, 2016. After graduating from the 198th Basic Academy, he was assigned to Sheriff’s Court Services before transferring to the Jurupa Valley Station on August 29, 2019. Deputy Corlew completed Motor School in June 2022 and was working Motor Enforcement at the time of his death.

Deputy Corlew is survived by his wife and two sons. Information regarding funeral arrangements will be released as it becomes available.
