The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office said it is aware of the social media posts regarding drones in Riverside County and is receiving calls regarding the drone activity.
The department clarified that while it is receiving calls about unmanned aircraft systems, these concerns are best directed to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
As the primary authority overseeing drone regulations and safety, the FAA is responsible for managing and addressing issues related to drone operations.
The sheriff’s department stated that it works closely with local law enforcement partners and will investigate any criminal activity reported.
Multiple sightings of the mysterious drones have been reported over the skies of California, New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut this week. Both residents and lawmakers are pushing for answers, wanting to know who is controlling them and why they are there.
