A 55-year-old Riverside man, identified as Kevin Silvestri, was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash in the City of Perris on Thursday evening, October 2.
Deputies from the Perris Sheriff’s Station responded at about 5:51 p.m. to the area of Goetz Road, south of Mapes Road, following reports of a major traffic collision.
When deputies arrived, they found Silvestri unresponsive on the side of the roadway with significant injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to preliminary findings, Silvestri had been traveling southbound on Goetz Road from Mapes Road when he swerved across the northbound lane to avoid stopped traffic. His vehicle continued down an embankment and rolled before coming to a rest.
Goetz Road, between Mapes Road and Fieldstone Drive, was temporarily closed to collect evidence and process the scene.
It is unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol are a factor in this collision, authorities said.
