The Riverside Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating a suspect who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman on a hiking trail.
On Tuesday, June 13, at approximately 4:46 a.m., Riverside Police officers responded to the Mount Rubidoux walking trail for a report of a sexual assault that just occurred. The female adult victim was entering the trail near San Andreas Avenue and Glenwood Avenue when she was assaulted by an unknown suspect, the Riverside Police Department reported.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male adult in his early to mid-20s, slender build, and wearing dark clothing.
Detectives with the Sexual Assault – Child Abuse Unit (SACA) responded to the scene and were assisted by Specialists with the Forensics Unit.

- Make sure someone you trust knows your plans.
- Be alert to your surroundings and the people around you, especially when it is dark.
- Be aware of locations and situations which could make you vulnerable to crime, such as alleys and dark parking lots.
- Whenever possible, go with a friend.
- Walk closest to the curb and avoid doorways, bushes, and alleys where someone could hide.
- Walk confidently and at a steady pace.
- Make eye contact with people when walking.
- Always bring your phone with you but try to keep your hands free.
- If you carry a purse, hold it securely between your arm and body.
- Don’t let yourself get distracted.
