An RV sideswiped a parked Cadillac Escalade this morning after the RV’s slide-out apparently extended while the vehicle was being driven in Canyon Lake. The Cadillac was parked on Spray Drive when the incident occurred around 8:30 a.m.
The owner of the Cadillac, Katrina Papadakis, was inside her home when she heard a loud boom. When she went outside to investigate, she discovered that an RV had sideswiped her vehicle.
According to Papadakis, the RV slide-out apparently extended while the RV was traveling, striking her Cadillac. The impact caused the slide-out to detach from the RV.
The owner of the RV thinks it malfunctioned and came out, Papadakis explained.
The Canyon Lake Police Department and the Canyon Lake Property Owner Association’s Community Patrol assisted with traffic control until the street was cleared.
The incident was described as a complete accident. No injuries were reported.
