Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District and the Division of Safety of Dams – Department Of Water Resources will perform an annual safety inspection at the Canyon Lake Dam on Friday, June 19 from 8 to 9 a.m.
The valves at the base of the dam will be opened for approximately 10 minutes during the inspection. Those close to the dam may experience an unpleasant earthy odor when the valves are releases. This is a temporary odor and it will dissipate quickly.
EVMWD officials said there will be no impact on customer service or the lake while the inspection is being performed. For questions or additional information, call 951- 674-3146.
