Sale of fireworks leads to arrest

During the month of June, deputies assigned to the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station, County Problem Oriented Policing Team, conducted an investigation regarding the illegal sales of fireworks occurring within the city of Lake Elsinore.

On June 17, at the direction of Sheriff Chad Bianco, deputies conducted an undercover operation within the city of Lake Elsinore. The Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station, County Problem Oriented Policing Team established electronic communication with Danish Saleem, 31, of Hawthorne, who was attempting to sell illegal fireworks.

Saleem requested to meet within the city of Lake Elsinore to do the exchange of fireworks. He arrived at the location and was detained with numerous illegal fireworks including Cherry Bombs, Saturn Battery’s, Jumbo Parachutes, and 5” XL Canister Shells. 

Saleem was transported and booked into Robert Presley Detention Center for the possession of illegal fireworks for sales. He was cited and released.
