The Canyon Lake Towne Center was transformed into a winter wonderland on Saturday for the city’s annual Winter Wonderland and Tree Lighting event.
Families gathered for a community celebration that featured train rides, a snow sledding hill, carnival games and prizes, a craft section for kids, food vendors, and tours of the fire engine.
The highlight of the evening was the arrival of Santa, who was escorted to the event by the Canyon Lake Fire Department. Santa was met with hugs from an excited crowd of children. Soon after, he settled into his grand chair where there was a line of eager guests waiting to visit and take pictures with him.
Canyon Lake Council Members Kasey Castillo, Jennifer Dain, and Mark Terry led the tree lighting. At the end of the countdown, the holiday tree and the Memorial Park illuminate the night in a spectacular display of sparkling lights.
