Senator Melissa Melendez is partnering with the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians to host a Thanksgiving Food Drive. Donations of non-perishable food will be collected through November 18.
Donations may be dropped off between the hours of 9 a.m and 5 p.m. at the Murrieta office, 25186 Hancock Ave., Ste. 320, and the Indio office, 42-125 Smurr St., Ste. B.
Suggested items include boxed stuffing mix, instant mashed potatoes in boxes or packets, jars of turkey gravy and dried gravy mix packets, canned yams, canned cranberry sauce, cream of mushroom soup, and canned corn.
“There are many in need this Thanksgiving, please donate if you can and be someone’s blessing this year,” Senator Melendez said.
Senator Melendez represents the 28th Senate District, which is entirely in Riverside County and includes the cities of Blythe, Canyon Lake, Cathedral City, Coachella, Desert Hot Springs, Indian Wells, Indio, Lake Elsinore, La Quinta, Murrieta, Temecula, Palm Desert, Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, and Wildomar.
