In honor of National Library Card Sign Up Month, patrons at the Canyon Lake Library will receive a small gift when they sign up for their first library card in the month of September.
Patrons can sign up in person at the library or at the library’s booth at the Canyon Lake Farmers Market on Sunday, September 19, or Sunday, September 26.
Since 1987, Library Card Sign Up Month has been held each September to mark the beginning of the school year. During the month, the American Library Association and libraries unite in a national effort to ensure that every child signs up for their own library card.
Library cards are free; replacement cards cost $1. A state-issued ID and proof of current address are required. A child’s card requires the written permission of a parent or legal guardian.
The Canyon Lake Library is located at 31594 Railroad Canyon Rd. Operating hours are Monday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The library is closed on Tuesday and Sunday.
