Three of the five seats on the Canyon Lake POA Board of Directors will be up for election in May when the two-year terms of Renee Griffiths and Tim Cook end. The seat currently held by Alex Cook will also become vacant in May. He was appointed by the board in August 2022 to fill the seat vacated by Brian Bock, who resigned with nine months left of his two-year term.
Jeanne O’Dell, Chris Papavero, Renee Griffiths, Jeff Bill, Rita Bendlin, Alex Cook, and Joe Kamashian have announced their candidacy.

Ballots will be mailed to prime members on Monday, April 3. Associate members are not entitled to vote in the election. Prime members have one vote per unit/lot/parcel owned.
In the weeks leading up to the election, Canyon Lake Insider will feature a series of questions to the candidates. During this period, residents will have the opportunity to hear directly from the candidates and learn what they hope to accomplish if elected to serve on the board.
The election schedule is as follows:
- Ballots will be mailed to prime members on Monday, April 3. Civil code requires ballots to be sent out at least 30 days prior to the meeting date, which is May 11.
- The last day it is recommended a homeowner mail a ballot is on Friday, May 5.
- The Annual Meeting of the Members and Election of Directors will be held on Thursday, May 11, at 8 a.m. in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. The meeting will be called to order and polls will close at approximately 9 a.m.
- If a quorum is not met on May 11, the alternate meeting date will be on Saturday, May 13.

The Canyon Lake POA five-member board of directors are collectively responsible for the management and operation of the POA’s business affairs. The board directors are elected by at-large for staggered two-year terms. The terms are staggered with three directors in odd years and two directors in even years.
