Three of the five seats on the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association Board of Directors are up for election. Jeanne O’Dell, Chris Papavero, Renee Griffiths, Jeff Bill, Rita Bendlin, Alex Cook, and Joe Kamashian have announced their candidacy.
Candidates are not permitted to campaign (i.e. forums, pins/badges, signs, flyers, etc.) until they have attended a Candidate Orientation Meeting on Friday, March 3, at 10 a.m. at the POA office. Election signs may be placed in the community setback starting Sunday, March 12.
In the weeks leading up to the election, Canyon Lake Insider will feature a series of questions to the candidates. During this period, residents will have the opportunity to hear directly from the candidates and learn what they hope to accomplish if elected to serve on the board.
The election schedule is as follows:
- Ballots will be mailed to prime members on Monday, April 3. Civil code requires ballots to be sent out at least 30 days prior to the meeting date, which is May 11.
- The last day it is recommended a homeowner mail a ballot is on Friday, May 5.
- The Annual Meeting of the Members and Election of Directors will be held on Thursday, May 11, at 8 a.m. in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. The meeting will be called to order and polls will close at approximately 9 a.m.
- If a quorum is not met on May 11, the alternate meeting date will be on Saturday, May 13.
Associate members are not entitled to vote in the election. Prime members have one vote per unit/lot/parcel owned.
