On October 8 at 11:05 a.m., Murrieta Police officers and Murrieta Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene of a single-vehicle traffic collision at the intersection of Clinton Keith Road and Menifee Road and discovered a vehicle fully engulfed in flames.
The driver and only occupant of the vehicle succumbed to her injuries due to the collision, the Murrieta Police Department said in a news release. The driver was later identified as Christina Gibson, 33. of Winchester.
The cause of the collision has not been determined; however, the preliminary investigation revealed the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Clinton Keith Road and struck a metal traffic signal pole at the intersection. It is not believed any other vehicles were involved.
The Murrieta Police Department’s Traffic Bureau is conducting a full investigation.
