Six drivers were arrested at a DUI Checkpoint conducted by the Menifee Police Department on Saturday, August 26, from 7 p.m. to 2 p.m. on McCall Boulevard near Sun City Boulevard.
Menifee Police Department screened 453 vehicles and made four arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol, one arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, and one arrest for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Four drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license.
Checkpoint locations are based on a history of crashes and DUI arrests. The primary purpose of checkpoints is not to make arrests but to promote public safety by deterring drivers from driving impaired.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
