The local Helping Hands Group is seeking donations of new socks for its annual Socktoberfest sock drive. Socktoberfest benefits struggling seniors in local communities as the weather turns cold.
Donations of new socks may be dropped off in the Helping Hands collection bins located at Pack, Wrap, and Post in the Canyon Lake Towne Center and at Canyon Lake Community Church, 30515 Railroad Canyon Rd.
The donated socks will be sorted, packaged, and delivered in November to seniors in the cities of Canyon Lake, Lake Elsinore, Menifee, Wildomar, Murrieta, Perris, and Hemet.
Too busy to shop? The Helping Hands Group volunteers will shop for you. A $25.00 donation will cover the cost of four pairs of warm socks that will be hand-delivered to the home of a local low-income senior. Socks can be purchased at https://shophelpinghands.us/collections/program-support.
