The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation recently awarded a $29,280 grant to the soon-to-be-formed Canyon Lake Fire Department. The funding will be applied toward the purchase of four self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBAs), which will be used to ensure greater life-saving capabilities for firefighters in the community.
“This equipment is so important to Canyon Lake as it will allow us to put four SCBA’s on our new Type VI fire engine, so it can support both wildland and structure fire responses,” said Jeff LaTendresse, interim fire chief, City of Canyon Lake. “During these unique and difficult times, we’re so thankful to Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation and our local Firehouse Subs in Menifee.”
During the most recent grant cycle, the 501(c)(3) non-profit Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation awarded 120 grants to public safety organizations nationwide. The 120 grants total nearly $2.5 million and were given to organizations in need of critical lifesaving equipment.
