Over the next few weeks, Southern California Edison will be conducting aerial inspections utilizing drones and/or helicopters in various areas of Menifee. The amount of time it takes to conduct aerial inspections varies.
Southern California Edison inspectors are using drones and helicopters to inspect equipment in hard-to-reach areas and from difficult angles. These inspections are just one part of SCE’s broader wildfire prevention and mitigation program focusing on keeping communities safe.
“With these increased aerial inspections, we are making absolutely sure that every effort is made to identify possible ignition spots in high fire risk areas,” said Dave Guerrero, principal manager at SCE Air Ops, who noted that several aerial inspection teams are deployed each week. “We can see things in the aerial assets that you can’t see from the ground.”
