Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District invites the community to “Splash into Spring” at its Annual Water Festival on Saturday, March 14, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at EVMWD Headquarters at 31315 Chaney St. in Lake Elsinore.
This free, family-friendly event offers tours of the wastewater treatment plant, activities for children, water and wastewater related trucks and equipment, conservation demonstrations, landscape ideas, plant displays, tours of Elsinore Eddie’s Efficient Gardens and free refreshments and water-saving devices while supplies last.
EVMWD will share their daily work at the district through a variety of interactive displays and demonstrations. Activities include fixing a leaky water main, performing a valve exercise, cleaning up a polluted watershed and exploring pipes with robotics and video cameras.
A crowd favorite is a tour of the facility’s sewer treatment plant, where visitors can take a journey through the plant to see who wastewater becomes recycled water.
There will be special visits from EVMWD’s Ellsinore Eddie and Storm Stadium’s Thunder Dog.
Scouts can earn a Water Explorer Badge when they attend this event.
