On November 11 at 5:22 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area near Los Alamos Road and Whitewood Road in response to reports of a male suspect starting a brush fire.
According to the Murrieta Police Department, the suspect ran to his parked vehicle and was fleeing the scene when officers arrived. A vehicle pursuit ensued, heading northbound on the I-215 freeway.
The pursuit came to an end when the suspect’s vehicle collided with the center divider, rendering it disabled. The suspect attempted to escape on foot, running across the freeway and attempting to climb a nearby embankment. Officers were able to apprehend and arrest the suspect there.
