A DUI Checkpoint conducted by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Temecula Station on Friday, August 23, led to the arrest of two drivers suspected of driving under the influence.
Held from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Jefferson Avenue and Sanborn Avenue, deputies contacted 267 vehicles during the checkpoint.
In addition to the DUI arrests, four drivers were cited for operating a vehicle without a valid license.
The checkpoint aimed to promote public safety by removing impaired drivers from the roads and reducing the risk of accidents related to impaired driving. The locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related incidents.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
