Temecula man arrested in connection with Murrieta stabbing

A Temecula man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that left another man in critical condition on October 31 in the City of Murrieta.

According to the Murrieta Police Department, the incident occurred around 10:50 a.m. near the intersection of Margarita Road and Torrey Pines Road. Witnesses reported that an adult male had stabbed another adult male before fleeing the scene.

Responding officers arrived and located the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. Life-saving first aid was rendered before the victim was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

A coordinated search of the area was conducted, but the suspect was not located. The department later released a public request for information and a photo of the suspect, leading to his identification as 35-year-old Matthew McMahon of Temecula.

On November 6, McMahon was located at a residence in Yermo and taken into custody. He was arrested on suspicion of attempted homicide and assault with a deadly weapon.
