The Canyon Lake Yacht Club held its first “Concert on the Water” event on Saturday evening. Thirty-five boats participated in the two-hour event.

After a slow cruise around the main lake, boats tied up in Catfish Cove to listen to the sounds of the Eagles. “Food, drinks, meeting new friends, it was a blast,” said Vice Commodore Ron Wilbur. “This is exactly what the Yacht Club is all about.”

The Yacht Club’s next “Concert on the Water” will be held on September 19 from 5 to 7 p.m. Dubbed “Wastin’ away in Canyon Lake-ville,” this event will feature a tribute to Jimmy Buffett. This is not a live concert, music is recorded.

Participating boats will meet at the lodge dock at 5 p.m. and depart at 5:15 p.m. for a leisurely cruise around the main lake. After the cruise, boats will tie up in Catfish Cove in front of the concert boat.

“Bring your food, beverages, swimsuits, floaties, and Aqua Lily pads,” said Vice Commodore Ron Wilbur. “Dance and sing along or just sit and enjoy the music and the evening with your food and drinks.”

Non-boat owners who wish to participate may contact the Yacht Club at [email protected] to inquire about space availability on one of the Yacht Club boats.
