Ernesto Enriquez, a 27-year-old resident of Riverside, was arrested during a traffic stop and booked into jail for being a felon in possession of a firearm, ammunition, and parole violation.

On August 17, officers conducted directed enforcement along the University Avenue corridor due to ongoing complaints of criminal and illegal narcotics activity.

“They conducted a traffic stop and contacted the driver, whom they knew to be on parole and a documented gang member,” said a statement issued by the Riverside Police Department. “A compliance search of his vehicle yielded a loaded firearm and ammunition.”

Enriquez is scheduled to appear in court on August 19, jail records show.
