A residence on Della Cava Lane within the Tuscany Hills community of Lake Elsinore was transformed into an illegal marijuana cultivation site.

Deputies served a search warrant on August 6 and located approximately 845 marijuana plants in various stages of growth inside the residence, stated a news release issued by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

The electrical system within the residence was illegally altered causing a severe fire hazard. Southern California Edison Company responded to the residence and turned the power off due to the illegal wiring throughout the residence.

Lake Elsinore Code Enforcement along with Building and Safety responded and determined the residence was uninhabitable.

Li Huang, 57, and Xingqiang Tan, 30, were booked into the Southwest Detention Center for illegal marijuana cultivation and utility theft.

Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Deputy Talbott at the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station at 951-245-3300.
