More than 60 spectators gathered at Sunset Beach on Saturday to cheer on 24 riders who braved the frigid water to participate in the 2022 Polar Bear Day.
Hosted by the Canyon Lake Ski Club and the Wakeboard Club, riders were invited to ski, wakeboard, or hydrofoil wearing only a swimsuit and a life jacket. One barefoot skier was among the participants.
The clubs treated the participants to a warm fire, donuts, a barbecue, hot chocolate, coffee, and a free raffle.
