Two suspects arrested in Perris school burglaries

Two suspects have been arrested for two separate school burglaries that occurred on May 22 and May 30 at a charter school in the 1400 block of N. A Street in the City of Perris. Several classrooms were broken into and numerous iPads and laptops were stolen, according to Sergeant Sean Liebrand.

The Perris Station’s Robbery/Burglary Suppression Team (RBST) assumed the investigation and developed information on a possible location for the iPads and laptops.

RBST along with Perris City Special Enforcement Team (SET) and the Perris Station County W4 Special Enforcement Team served two search warrants consecutively at two residences located in the 100 Block of Perou Street in the City of Perris and collected five stolen iPads and laptops, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Two suspects, 24-year-old Ivan Martinez of Perris and 27-year-old Shawnathan Baylor of Perris, were arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for burglary, possession of stolen property, and vandalism.

Anyone with additional information is urged to call Deputy Ramirez at Riverside County Sheriff’s dispatch at 951-776-1099 or the Perris Station at 951-210-1000.
